Celebrating the Life & Legacy of H. Carl McCall

After a well-established and profound career as New York State Senator, Comptroller, and President of SUNY, H. Carl McCall retired June 30th, 2019. Through his activism, mentorship, and dedication to public service, as well as the future leaders of America, his legacy will continue to live on.

My team and I were challenged to create the celebration that would not only commemorate his career, but also introduce the new McCall Scholarship that will provide opportunities to those in need. After thorough research of his entire career, we created a Brand Identity for H. Carl McCall.

H. Carl McCall was an advocate in politics, education, for the public, and for future generations to come. It was essential to incorporate his empathy and devotion to service into his brand, and we adapted this concept by adding his signature in the logo to give a genuine, personalized feel. Multiple colors were integrated in the brand and interchanged throughout the project to represent his career in education, SUNY, activism, and New York State.

Once the brand identity was established, we began to ideate the design process for the entire event, including the interior designing of the venue, website design, and wayfinding signage. From HTML RSVP to interviews, signage, and journal design, we implemented this brand identity to successfully represent H. Carl McCall and his achievements in every aspect of his celebration.

A night to remember kicking off McCall’s Legacy of Empowerment.
